"Rush is Right"

...thus sayeth a bumper sticker that is fairly common in this town.

And said bumper sticker was in front of me for several blocks today, firmly affixed to the back end of a big, shiny Hummer. It occured to me, as I followed the behemoth, that the message on the bumper might be correct. After all, it wasn't that many years ago that old Rush was called on some of the numerous untruths in his broadcasts. I don't recall the exact wording of his response, but it went something like this: Golly gee, folks, Leno and Letterman say stuff and everybody knows they're kidding; it's not my fault that some people are so stupid that they take me seriously.

Essentially, Rush called 'stupid' those who have made him wealthy. Yet they keep listening to him. And they keep buying crap that puts his name out there. He calls them 'stupid'. So, Rush is right?
