About having to pay his taxes. So he doesn't. And then he's pissed that the IRS is coming after him so he flies a plane into a building to take out as many innocent people as he can, including trying to fry his family by setting his fucking house on fire.

He's a fucking unsympathetic, murderous, selfish scumbag. There is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING about him that I can empathize with about him or understand about his situation. And anyone who says they can "understand" but not condone his actions must be as fucking selfish and delusional as he was. Anyone who feels any type of empathy for his screed, or understanding for his situation is a fucking idiot.

He had plenty of money. Money to buy a house. Money to buy a plane. He was just too fucking selfish to pay his taxes.

He was NOT getting crushed by the gov't. All his problems were HIS OWN MAKING. If you don't pay your taxes, guess what? You're a fucking criminal. You are not being crushed by the system. You are being crushed by your own selfish stupidity and sense of entitlement.

It was fucking ludicrous, of course, but showed the extent to which people's perceptions are clouded by their prejudices.

In this case, the notion that Stack's plane was "stolen" likely proliferated because "Joe Stack" doesn't scan like "Abdul Mutallab." It's interesting *who* continues to believe that the plane was stolen, in any case.

Mr. Stark had no desire to see the big corporations and their owners pay their fare share of the tax burden. He was mad that he could not be on their side.

I am having trouble relating to this man. There is populist anger out there. This man had nothing in common with what many people go through on an everyday basis. He had a grievance against a certain tax code. It may be an unfair tax code. But he still was able to make tons of money.

Or who sympathize with him in any way.

Last Friday my aunt who is only 50 was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Her husband is abusive, she has 2 kids that she has total reponsibility for, she is reponsible for most of the family bills...and she's dealing with it.

And we're supposed to have empathy for a rich tax cheat with a private plane who thinks he's entitled to other people's lives?

My husband's job is unstable as the utility he works for lost tons of money this year with the bad economy. But I am not ready to hurt anyone over it. I am a diabetic and deal with the nasty insurance company not wanting to cover certain meds. Just dealt with that issue a few weeks ago. I have not tried to kill anyone over it. He was selfish for sure.
