Sometimes, you've got to just say damn the manufactured, corporate-backed, nearly entirely unreasoned outrage and do what needs to be done.

That's what voters want to see from Congress- that, for once, they stood up for what was best for everyone instead of allowing the interests of a few powerful parties to override progress.

"Jamming" the public OPTION down our throats. Please. Oh, I know- giving people the opportunity to buy health insurance from the federal government, fair and square, is just terrible. TERRIBLE, I tell you.

1. This actually makes more sense. Can't you argue that in order to sustain medicare, we need more
people to pay to get in it and help pay for it?

2. Well, at the very least you can argue that, if you're trying to suppress health cost inflation,
it's a good idea to get as many older people as possible insured by the feds to increase the negotiating/buying power of those who make the most use of our healthcare system.

5. And I think the reconciliation method would fit this perfectly. It helps the budget and should be
easier for people to grasp. I think anyone uninsured should be able to buy in though. Not just people over 45.

3. I cannot tell you how many people over the last 15 years or so that I have
heard say they wished they could buy in to Medicare and these are people in their 40s and 50s. And I don't think they were all "flaming, liberal Democrats." They were just ordinary people that I worked with. I remember one woman who seemed so worn down with years of work and struggle to do right by her family say to me "There's got to be a better way." I felt so bad for her. She was depressed and near the end of her rope. I remember her to this day...it exemplified to me what the average American worker feels, and this was back in the early 90s when things were better. I shudder to think what has happened to her now...

4. Yup, it would be a lot simpler. Not to mention a lot more cost-effective.
And cheaper for the consumer.
