Tea party speaker calls for hanging of WA senator

SPOKANE, Wash. – A speaker at an eastern Washington "tea party" gathering called for U.S. Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., to be hanged, drawing laughter and applause from the crowd.

The unidentified woman, captured by a local television crew while speaking from the podium Saturday, told the crowd in Clarkston that Murray should suffer the same fate as the character Jake in the western "Lonesome Dove."

"What happened to Jake when he ran with the wrong crowd?" the woman asked. "He got hung. And that's what I want to do with Patty Murray."

The crowd erupted in laughter at the comment. Organizers estimated that approximately 500 people attended the weekend meeting of the Lewis & Clark Tea Party Patriots, held at the Asotin County Fairgrounds.

2. These people have lost their collective llittle minds
And they are dangerous. What they are about to start is a civil war that they have no chance of winning. All of this is because they lost the election.:nuke:

30. In the '60s there was a rumor that when airplanes landed in Spokane the
pilots asked the passengers to 'turn your clocks back 20 years'.

16. More likely that all of this is because a man of dark complexion is president, but

historically, with no known exceptions since all of recorded time, when there is a huge disparity between rich and poor, people turn to violence. It doesn't mean violence will result in a favorable outcome, its just that it becomes the only option as representation and leadership manipulate people in an effort to distract them from the real cause of the class divisions. As long as income disparity continues to accelerate as it has over last 30 years, violence and calls for violence will increase.

Year over year the legislative process is rewarding the rich and punishing the poor. Those with money can manufacture lies - liberals are the current target. As a liberal, I can assure the right wing of both parties that we (regrettably) have had near zero influence over policy decision in this administration, zero influence over policy decisions in the previous two presidential terms, and only limited influence over the two previous terms before that. In fact, I will argue that liberals are currently reviled by both mainstream parties.

Liberals would be working to

end the 10 years of war
investigate and prosecute torturers
investigate and prosecute those responsible for a war based on lies to the American people that cost thousands of US lives and nearly a million (or more) in Iraq
legislate single payer or other public health reform
investigate and prosecute the fraud and corruption that caused world wide finacial meltdown and funneled trillions into wall street CEO pockets
outlaw wiretapping without court order
push through campaign finance reform by making public money and only public money available
stop calling bullshit tax credits and tax cuts and money issued for state budget shortfalls "stimulus" and put real money into real infrastructure programs
shut down the right wingers at every opportunity instead of wasting precious time with bipartisan skirt lifting
shut down the lobbying industry - the only thing really thriving in this recession
get rid of Bernanke, Summers, Geithner the horseman of the middle class Apocalypse
raising taxes on the rich, eliminating loopholes
eliminating outsourcing
freezing "free" trade agreements
building up regulatory watchdogs over wall street and eliminating the revolving door that trains SEC employees to work for Goldman Sachs as compliance officers.

We have none of this at state or federal levels - so why are liberals still being blamed? I really wish we were powerful enough to deserve the hatred expressed by both parties (we are considered to be "retarded" according to Obama's right hand man - he's such a kidder that Rahm Emanuel, hahahaha).

Nope- it is with great sadness and heartbreaking remorse that I must report liberals are not to blame for the state of affairs in this country. This will no doubt come as quite a shock to many.

However, there is still hope at finding a culprit, I humbly suggest, when in pursuit of root cause, that a careful examination of the legislative priorities of the realists and centrists and moderates and other right winger free-marketeers of both parties will yield a preponderance of evidence. Liberals have a perfect alibi.

9. The article has been updated to identify the speaker
...and of course give her the chance to try to weasel out of her own words:

...Capps, who initially denied to The Associated Press that she was the speaker, said Thursday night that the rest of the statement was that she wanted to "hang Patty Murray, by vote."
She contended the television news report edited out part of her statement. But KLEW news director Greg Meyer told The Lewiston Tribune newspaper that the unedited footage from the rally contains no statement from Capps about hanging Murray with votes....

10. They seem to have difficulty recognizing a terrorist.
It seems that all domestic terrorists have to be hugging a tree or an animal. Hugging a gun while preaching hate or talking of killing a human , does not seem to qualify.

I'm familiar with Washington State since I went to school just south of Spokane in Pullman. Yeah, I'm a Cougar. Glad to get out of that area since the locals all appear to have similar mindsets. Only progressive haven was on campus at WSU.

BTW, has anyone thought of calling Secret Service?

Spokane, where having radical revolutionary views like Nelson Rockfeller would get you called a 'Communist'.

In our home I heard "better dead than red" more than "home sweet home".
