letter to Obama on final public option push:
Feel free to plagiarize it and send it here http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact

President Obama,

Please make an all out effort get health care reform with a STRONG PUBLIC OPTION passed and sign into law.

The process up to this point has been a disgrace of pandering to Republicans and letting the most corrupt members of the Democratic Party like Max Baucus take the lead and sell out real reform in favor of rewarding insurance companies with captive customers.

You cannot expect progressives to donate, campaign for, or remember to get out of bed and vote for Democrats if you work for insurance companies, Wall Street, and banks to the detriment of average Americans.

A public option like opening Medicare to all is the kind of change we voted for and the kind poll after poll have shown wide majorities of Americans want.

Make the Democratic Party show that our democracy works and isn't bought and paid for by the already wealthy.

1. Too late if another thread is correct. This latest push is just another sell-out.
A question - will we again fall victim to a vague "hope" for something./anything positive from this President, only to be shit on when his actions and views become evident.

It is also starting to be a valid question as to which party Obama should belong to.

Next question is - how much further to the reich can he move. That answer I am afraid to see played out.

2. one recent column somewhere said the wealthy leave the dirtiest work to Democrats
like NAFTA, welfare reform, and now it looks like this sell out too.

5. And "our" party is more than willing to do the dirty work for them. I am about half-a-second
away from totally giving up on the Dems. They have done shit with the majorities WE gave them.

I am sure the Dem pols themselves will be perfectly happy to go back to being the minority where they have no pressure to do anything except rubber-stamp the pukes' agenda. That way, they can pretend to be on our side. They'll still support any rethug POS legislation that the pukes send up, but they will complain about having to do so.

It is clear that they really do not care about what Democratic voters want. Let them survive, or not, without my effort, dollars or vote.
