Rachel helps send Meet the Press to the top of the ratings..

Meet the Press is one of the oldest and most established programs on television. With the sudden death of Tim Russert, they were left without a line-up. After several different trials, they decided on David Gregory. His ratings have not been that good. That is, not until last Sunday. Most attribute the jump in ratings to the appearance of Rachel Maddow on the show.

Although there have never been co-hosts on Meet the Press, as far as I know, this is probably something NBC is considering? Rachel could add a lot to the program with her knowledge and her penetrating questioning. Ideally, she could be the host. But it is doubtful that the network would want to put her in such a high-profile position all alone with her lack of experience. No doubt, they recognize her star quality.

She would be superb as host.

She's as interested in finding the truth as we are actully hearing it and not a bunch of b.s.

Apparently you haven't worked out how bad hack Gregory really is? I'd say that Rachel is at least 1,000 times better. :evilgrin:

NBC isn't going to go out on a limb for, horrors, a lesbian! Also, ultra left! The tea partiers would barricade themselves in NBC corporate offices. A boycott would be announced! Death threats would ensue!

And the rest of the media would cover it and say, there,you see, the American people are center right...I can hear it now...

I doubt it? I really doubt it.

That would add a significant balance to the show.

the guest list before I tune in, and specifically tuned in last week when I saw that Rachel was on. She did a GREAT JOB TOO!

I wouldn't be surprised to see her host the show when Gregory is on vacation just as a test. NBC is in business to make $$, and ratings get you more $$!

and the corollary, The ratings getter (MADDOW) gets the show!1
