If any doubters remain about what they would like for us, follow the CPAC saga.
This meeting in DC lays it all out. Any decency or caring about civil rights, workers' protections, women's right to choose, access to the justice system, health care for those who can't afford it, the environment, peace, the nation's infrastructure, or the right to speak out on these issues - all of these are under assault by the incredibly well funded Right Wing, and their seething hate is on full display at the CPAC convention.

They are coming for us. Tonight Glenn Beck will coalesce their convention with a call to violence against progressives - maybe with code words, but without any real need for interpretation.

Our opposition is no longer even the execrable Rush Limbaugh. It's more like Timothy McVeigh. That's who they are. And creeps like Newt are more than happy to whip the buffoons into a frenzy so as to advance their own riches and power.

I'm glad DU is here to stand up against their snake oil.

3. Don't forget Armey. He's surely there.
He'll rile them up with his Texas drawl...if he's sober.

4. The Republican Party is entirely under the sway of the John Birch Society now.
There's really no other way of putting it.

6. They've done an amazing job

What's amazing is that extremists have managed to take over without alienating a good many normal right leaning people.

Some Republican thought leaders have left, but most seem to be simply sitting on their hands.
