1. tried to livestream it on NBC site
Edited on Sun Feb-21-10 08:09 PM by SpiralHawk
but the freaking Microsoft Silversuck program will not load properly.

I have downloaded it about 6 times, but it appears to be MicroSuck trashware.

So screw NBC - will try to livestream the audio

2. Is the Silverlight thing an IOC requirement or something?
It's keeping me from viewing the Canadian stream too. (Canada's IP-blocked from NBC's Olympic coverage.)

81. NBC Universal owns the US broadcast rights
and they contracted with Microsoft to provide the online hosting.

This means that if you live in the states and try to access streams on http://www.ctvolympics.ca/">CTV for example, you will be blocked.

NBC Universal is also protecting the rights of its cable partners (USA, CNBC & MSNBC) by only allowing current cable tv subscribers to see their online streams.

It's not Show Friends; it's Show Business.

I just got back from downtown. Saw the number of police gathering on Granville St and decided to get out before the game ended. It's going to be a zoo no matter who wins.

5. I am, and I just called my 78 year old mom and told her...
LOOK
There is nothing better on TV right now than this, and I know you don't have many of these days left, where you get to see the biggest hockey game in 30 years so you need to be watching -----

I had to stop because she was laughing so hard.

I love my Mom and she's watching too after it took me four minutes to get her to remember where MSNBC was.
MOM- it's the channel RACHEL IS ON - and then - OK!

My MOM rules.

Edited on Sun Feb-21-10 09:54 PM by hatesthegop
First of all, it's all about money. The US athletes are all a bunch of spoiled little prima donna's...since the TV Marketing of the Olympics in the 60's it's has lost sight of it's true purpose. Also we have more imnportant things to worry abouyt....such as politics, moving forward the progressive agenda..FUCK the Olympics

the day after he won!! Each time he would start the interview saying, "have you gotten any sleep yet..."

Of course I've still kept watching. I'm actually really enjoying the winter olympics this year. I'm amazed at about 95% of those sports and that everyone isn't killed in every event. Like the Super G - how are there not multiple deaths every year in this?? It's amazing. I think that's one difference for me between the Winter and Summer olympics is that the summer stuff isn't as amazing...I can play basketball and soccer and jogging decently...but I can't even stand up on a pair of skates, let alone zoom around the track like they do.

You are going to have to check the Internet if you're blessed with broadband for the USA v. Russia Game? That game is going to be awesome.

I'm bad but a few nights ago during the Ice Dancing "compulsory" I was so damn bored (they all do the same pattern!) that I wanted to reach over and gouge my eyes out with my .5 mechanical pencil. Thank goodness I got control and changed the channel.

He's not my FAV either. Sidney Crosby (Penguins-Pittsburgh) and Ilya Bryzgalov (Coyotes-Phoenix) are my two favorite players.

Unfortunately, Crosby lost with Canada last night and Bryzgalov will be playing for Russia in our upcoming game.

Mixed loyalties?

Whoever wins, this upcoming game should ROCK. :silly:
