Evan Bayh blames the people
snip

"Of course, the genesis of a good portion of the gridlock in Congress does not reside in Congress itself. Ultimate reform will require each of us, as voters and Americans, to take a long look in the mirror, because in many ways, our representatives in Washington reflect the people who have sent them there.

The most ideologically devoted elements in both parties must accept that not every compromise is a sign of betrayal or an indication of moral lassitude. When too many of our citizens take an all-or-nothing approach, we should not be surprised when nothing is the result."

So when you go to Washington, Bayh, and you sell out the people who sent you there, what do you do?

Why, you blame the people who sent you there!

Fuck you Evan Bayh.

1. Well remember he said the left wing bloggers are part of his reason for quitting
Sure wish it was that easy with more of them in DC.

4. How dare the people want to stand up for their self interests against the lil' ole corporations.
I agree FU Bayh! I hope you enjoy your blood money:

Susan Bayh, a lawyer, drew more than $837,0000 from her work on seven corporate boards last year, as Bloomberg News notes.

She is a director at Indianapolis-based WellPoint Inc., "which is part of a medical research partnership awarded a $24.7 million federal grant in May after Evan Bayh and his Indiana colleagues in Congress recommended the group to the National Institutes of Health,'' Bloomberg's Timothy Burger reports. "She's on the board of E*Trade Bank, a subsidiary of E*Trade Financial Corp., while her husband sits on the Senate Banking Committee. She is lead director at Emmis Communications Corp., an Indianapolis radio-station operator that published Evan Bayh's 2003 memoir.

9. Be of good cheer.
The more of these DINO corpo-sucking twits we chase out of the Democratic Party, the better. As such, I see the left wing blogs are doing us a service if Evy felt the need to take his football and go home because of them.

Good riddance, jackass.

11. He's right about the "all-or-nothing approach" deal, and he's right about the...
"should not be surprised when nothing is the result" deal - but he's the one that just sat there and did nothing for decades to have it all be torn from his flapping lips by some white dude wearing teabags on his ears. It has to be time for Evan Bayh to go, he's not making any sense

14. Just another politician who started his career before modern communication made it possible
to catch him in every lie, and inconsistency...and now has the capability to let everyone else know about it in cyber-speed.

The way it used to be, pols could say many things to many people, and unless some savvy news person happened to be following him everywhere, no one would ever really find out. With everyone having camera cell phones & the ability to you-tube everything within minutes, it's got to be unpleasant at best, for pols to have to suddenly be accountable for every word that escapes their lips, and to be called on everything.

We also know that since media has cut back on actual reporters, they are "mining" you tube and the other stuff that citizen journalists are sending them all day long, instead of doing the journalism themselves.

This means that everything they got WILL be partisan. Very few uninterested people bother to go to political events, so probably, most footage will be placed online to embarrass some pol who had a bout of foot-in-mouth .

The rules have changed for the ones who thought they could get away with almost anything..and with Google, now even their family members antics, jobs, views, are suddenly upfront and personal to anyone with internet service. We no longer have to scour dusty old magazines & newspapers and spend hours writing letters, in hopes that someone will pay attention..
