1. It's the face of an alcoholic...
Alcohol dehydrates your body and your skin, also causing redness of the skin or make it appear blotchy. It can permanently enlarge the peripheral vessels of the skin.

4. Several possibilities....
Alcohol, clearing brush and biking (exposure to the sun), and taking certain medicines (they sensitize your skin to the sun, making it easier to get a sunburn).

8. Age, mostly.
Edited on Sat Apr-28-07 11:23 AM by phaseolus
That, and spending lots of time outside on his lengthy vacations clearing brush and golfing without adequate sun protection. (... and the standard golf geek's uniform hat that they all have to wear is *not* adequate sun protection.)

Also, stress, even though he'd certainly love to avoid it.

I'm not an expert so I'll defer to someone who knows what they're talking about, but I'd further guess that he's drinking quite heavily (see "stress" listed above) and that would help age him faster than normal...

on edit -- wow, I guess we're all thinking "alcohol"...

14. I also wonder if he smokes.
Smoking ages a person incredibly. The skin (at least on white people) takes on a grayish cast, they get lines and wrinkles much, much earlier than a nonsmoker. It's not quite as obvious in men as in women, since we associate lines and wrinkles with "manliness", but it's there nonetheless.

23. You're thinking of Cheney. :D Reptiles molt, chimps just shed.
That's why he's always zipping off to an "undisclosed location" -- the molting process takes hours, aided by constant rubbing against rocks, trees, and other rough surfaces. Also, he likes privacy while he eats the old skin.

19. For over a year now I have called attention
to the discoloration of the hair over and directly in front of his ears. Take notice of some of the pictures and take a look at the area there. It seems a little reddish. Is it dye or what. But I do know it has been that way for over a year.

21. Yes, he's rugged to be sure.
Most importantly, though. Notice right underneath the eye. First, there's a bag right under his eye. But underneath that is a much larger one, indicating that he's under a tremendous amount of stress. It almost looks like a bruise, and it has a tint of red.

Also notice the "smile" which nowadays looks more like a pasted-on grin (it's for his detractors).

He's not in good shape.
