Carol Moseley Braun attacked, injured on South Side
Former U.S. Senator and one-time presidential hopeful Carol Moseley Braun was attacked and injured by a mugger early Saturday outside her South Side home, according to her spokesperson.

The attacked occurred about 12:30 a.m. in Hyde Park as she returned home with a family member. SNIP

Moseley Braun was outside her front door when she was approached by a man who was believed to have a knife.

The man tried to steal her purse, and in the struggle her wrist was broken.

I am surely glad the mugger didn't have a GUN, or we might be discussing something far far worse.

It is interesting that Barack Obama didn't raise his hand when asked if he had a gun in the house: he lives on the South Side of Chicago as well. As does my (gunless) son ... who, like Mosely Braun, lives in Hyde Park--the bad side of Hyde Park.

I wish Senator Mosely-Braun a quick recovery, both physically and from the fright of such an incident.

Broken wrist. She's a strong woman, so I know she'll get better, but broken wrists hurt.

Btw, I'm sooo not surprised she struggled with him. She is a kickass woman. :)
