Religious Exemption to Mandatory Insurance

Seeing as religion is a personal matter and there is the first amendment and all isn't the only thing we need to do to avoid the mandate is say we have a religious exemption and that's that?

If the feds tried to pry to much and categorize it by actual denominational membership rather than our own personal religious beliefs wouldn't that be breaking the 1st amendment?

For the many Americans who cannot afford the health insurance purchases that will be mandated upon them this could be an important question.

However, I can't afford private insurance, I won't qualify for the subsidies probably and I have no desire to pay for their tax penalty and my religious denomination doesn't exactly come out against mandatory insurance. Therefore, as someone who would like to keep a roof over my head, food in my stomach, continued attendance in graduate classes and so forth I'd like to know how this religious exemption works I'll probably try and claim it until I can get an employer who'll give me coverage that I can afford.

4. If you can't articulate how Mandatory Insurance prevents you from practicing your religion.

The exemption doesn't apply to you.

3. Christian Scientists come to mind

just for starters.

My opposition is philosophical and ethical, which one could argue is a religion, of sorts.

If there's a religion loophole, I'll be jumping through it, you can be sure.

There will be specific organized religions recognized as objecting to insurance and you will be required to be a member of one of those religions.

They'll work it just like the conscientious objector exemption for the draft. If you're a Quaker, you get the exemption. If you're a Methodist, too bad. For insurance, if you're Amish, you're exempt. IF you belong to no religion, too bad.
