Boy Who World Wished Well Succumbs To Cancer



WEST JEFFERSON, Ohio — A 7-year-old boy who was the recipient Christmas cards from around the world died early Friday morning after a battle with brain cancer.

Nathaniel Elfrink was sent thousands of cards after people learned of his story in December.

On one particular day, 3,000 cards that filled a mail truck were delivered to the boy's home, 10TV News reported.
Some of the cards came from as far away as Australia, his family said.

The Christmas card campaign started in December, when Elfrink's story was posted on a Web site. It wasn't long before the cards poured in from across the country and world.

At one point, Elfrink's parents asked the public to stop sending cards because they could not handle the volume of mail.

They instead asked people to donate to the Nationwide Children's Hospital Hospice Fund.

Life can be so tragic. At least his suffering is over...but at such a young age. Just a baby really :cry:
