Is the media our Guardian Council?
In Iran, before elections are held, candidates must be approved by the Guardian Council, the system is set up to prevent reformers and Liberals from winning in Iran.

Here in the US, we have seen fine candidates, brilliant people BTW, get absolutely nowhere.

Why is this?

Because the media will not report on them.

Take Larry Agran for example. When he ran to seek the Democratic party's nomination in 1992, the media would quite literally go to something else when he started speaking.

Now the media might be up to it's old tricks, they might be trying to create a media blackout in order to silence Mike Gravel, a man who has spoken against the Military-Industrial Complex.

We can use the internet and other forms of the new media, let's not let our 'guardian council' silence Gravel or any other good candidate.

1. Interesting premise.
I agree.

The media decides who is electable, and who is a threat.

If they're not electable, and won't get good grassroot support, they can ignore them.

If they're like Howard Dean, the media can't ignore him, so they visually assassinate him. I have shown the video of Dean's "scream" to people who were bashing him. I said, I'm not saying anything, just watch the video and tell me if it's as bad as you remember, or were told. Every single time, it's "No, I don't remember it only being like that."

2. I'm more than ready to silence the media. It's time for a revolution against them.
I'm sick to death of what they have come to .... ALL FUCKING SIX major media companies that control 90% of everything Americans see or hear. It's time for a real live bring down of those arrogant s.o.b.'s and their fucking smug lies, misrepresentations, and propagandizing to the American people.
