For those on Tsunami Watch....Here's the Real Action!

I got annoyed with the MSM who canceled all their commercials for the "Great Tsunami Watch" and were expecting millions of eyeballs sitting in suspense waiting for the big one. The popcorn was popping and people waited for hours.

Thank God Hawaii evacuated! And, while the Media is looking for a Disaster Movie....it seems that this was a disaster averted. I think the early warnings worked in this case and hopefully the scientists will learn more from this earthquake which will save lives in the future. It's just sad the MSM built up outrageous expectations that will cause people to become more cynical about Science.

But, for those who were waiting and are disappointed here's a THRILL for YOU. Maybe the Cables should show this to feed the hungry crowd sitting in the bleachers.

This is kind of cool to watch for THE BIG WAVE! And to release the tension of the "BIG WAIT."

BTW...Video Title is: "STUCK IN TSUNAMI!" :D

1. You are right. Those news yokels do seem disappointed
that 900 feet waves never appeared just off the shore at Hawaii.

I am GLAD that I am not witnessing the devastation of Hawaii live on tv.

4. As a kid, I watched so many Godzilla movies, that I know exactly what the destruction of cities
looks like. No need to tune into MSNBC's Any Minute Now marathon.

7. Not at all. I'm just saying that anxiously waiting to watch a disaster on tv is sick.
Movies like Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, and 2012 exist to satisfy this urge. The amount of time being wasted by people waiting to see a big wave hit the Hawaiian beach is ridiculous. MSNBC's coverage is a joke.

10. It's "Sick" for sure. But, "eyeballs" for views keeps their Ad Revenue going..
They shoulda stuck with Olympics for NBC/MSNBC/Weather Channel, though. We all know CNN just loves ANY DISASTER...so we will let them off the hook...right? Faux? I don't know. I never watch FAUX...but did their suspend their coverage to wait for hours for the Tsunami to hit?

11. It was great to see how well the evacuation went and glad it was so minimal
Mother Nature is always exciting to watch and it is also exciting to see how well the science has helped warn people. Along with observing one of the things scientists love is being able to use what they learn to help people and it worked great. Hawaii obviously has a superb monitering system. They helped evacuate people and they will learn alot from the data they collect. I think the people of Chile probably got the worst out of all of this and they are probably the ones we should be focusing our attention on so we can help them now. Their death toll is rising and I imagine the poor neighborhoods with the oldest structures are probably the worst hit. I hope they are able to rescue those trapped and help recover from this devastating earthquake.

12. I didn't watch because I wanted to see a catastrophe. I wasn't looking for a thrill.
I hoped to see what it looks like when the water on the beach is pulled out to sea...and then returns. I hoped to see what a tsunami LOOKS like. I assumed that the newsmongers would have their cameras placed to record such phenomena. Of course they didn't. With the exception of the "muddied" river shot and the same shot showing a narrow passage of water moving out to sea, there was nothing in any of the camera setups that was even slightly informative. They weren't position to show anything, really.
The three hour old tape of surfers, repeated endlessly by MSNBC, giving us the impression that these idiots were out there within moments of the arrival of a tidal wave, was the last straw.
I'm overjoyed that people were spared.

14. Glad you brought this up...
Sitting here watching TV today and you just get the impression the media is HOPING a giant tsunami hits Hawaii. When no major wave hits, you can just sense their disappointment. It is like watching kids on Christmas morning who didn't get what they wanted under the tree, but remain hopeful that within the next few hours someone may give them the present they so badly wanted.

I found it kinda disturbing watching TV wondering how many newscasters, and how many in the audience, were on the edge of their seats hoping the worst happens to Hawaii because it would make for cool TV watching.

15. All I wanted to see was some minor beach and road flooding...
And all I got was a discolored bay.
