Freepers are saying that calling up prostitutes is like buying things from ebay
In response to a thread about the Tobias prostitution scandal...

To: mode
"It’s just sex" and apparently she is over 18. What’s the problem? Because he supports an underground economy?
So do most people who buy things from ebay.

I'm convinced that one reason they despised Clinton so much is that, unlike your average Freeper, he didn't have to pay desperate women to pretend they wanted to have sex with him.

35. Actually, if the question is "should prostitution be legal", a majority of DU seems to say yes.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=654926

But that only equates to "buying and selling access to women's bodies" if one believes that consenting adult women suddenly lose the mental capacity to make decisions about their own bodies the minute they start making choices one happens to not agree with.

Edited on Sun Apr-29-07 10:23 AM by merh
Does it bother them that they have to pay for it and Clinton didn't?

I just don't get them, they can rationalize every crime of this admin. Do you know that Libby was railroaded and tricked into being not quite honest?

Oh, and all these oversight investigations 6 years after the admin took the helm are part of a witch hunt.

They just don't get it, congress now is trying to make up for the failings and the apathy of congress when they had control. That's why there seem to be so many investigations, congress is actually doing its job.

13. Technically, if everyone involved is a consenting adult, I agree with them.
People should be able to make their own decisions about their own bodies; and if that includes paying for or charging money for sex, I have trouble figuring out why my tax dollars should go towards waging "war" on it any more than I think they should be used to fight consenting adult drug use.

But maybe these folks haven't noticed; the Republican Party hasn't been exactly a bastion of respect for the principle that government should stay out of people's bedrooms and personal lives. And beyond that, it's the fucking hypocrisy of these control freaks and "family values" numbnuts saying one thing and doing another. It's the hypocrisy.

43. Eh, not so fast
Being gay would, of course, be OK for Bush in that situation.

It would still be a heinous crime for anyone not Republican.

All I can figure is, the wingnuts generally hate gays, but they hate poor people and pregnant teenagers more.

So if someone who is gay (Ken (cough! cough!) Melman (cough! cough!)) helps them screw over poor people and force pregnant teenagers to have unwanted babies, then teh gay is OK!
