Blackwater: There Will Be No GOP Fundraiser At Moyock Compound
Justin Elliott | March 4, 2010, 5:36PM

A Xe spokesman says that, contra a slide in the leaked RNC fundraising presentation, the Republican Party will not be holding an April fundraiser at the company's Moyock, North Carolina, training compound.

"The RNC is not coming to Moyock," spokesman Mark Corallo tells TPMmuckraker in an e-mail. "However, like the many corporations and organizations who choose our facilities for retreats and conferences, we would be happy to host the RNC and the DNC."

Politico's Ben Smith noted earlier today that a slide in the RNC document showed a fundraiser for Republican donors under 40 -- "Young Eagles" -- was scheduled for April 16 at Xe's U.S. Training Center facility.

Corallo said he does not know why the event appeared on the RNC slide.

The leaked RNC presentation (.pdf) is dated Feb. 18. The RNC press office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

1. The RNC is letting Xe Blackwater do their dirty work. Makes it easier to let the tainted
corporate killers deliver this message and pretend like it was a "typo."

2. Blackwater doesn't want to jeopardize its brand spanking new $2.8 Billion NO-BID contract.
