Yeah, blame Nader for 2000.
Blame Nader for Gore being a proud DLC member.

Blame Nader for Gore choosing Lieberman as his running mate.

Blame Nader for being the most genuinely progressive candidate there was.

Blame Nader for Gore trying to "out-Republican" Bush.

Blame Nader for stealing the election through purging of voter rolls and stopping the recount in Florida.

Yeah, blame Nader for all of that.

ever even heard of Al Gore. Spoilers with no chance do change election outcomes from time to time.

Blame Nader for Gore voters unintentionally voting for Buchanan in Broward County because of the stupid butterfly ballot.

Blame Nader for Kathrine Harris and 5 rats on the Supreme Court.

39. I just wish the Repubs had spent 8 years whining about Perot voters instead of impeaching Clinton
But that's because the Republicans actually want to win. Democrats only want excuses for why they don't win, even when they win.

49. yes, and imo gore would have won his home state
IF he wasn't so pro gun control.

i think the polling back then supported that proposition pretty well

i don't blame nader for ANYTHING because nader only had one vote. if ANYbody is to blame, it would be nader voters, not nader

31. Nader has his own agenda and he knew exactly what he was doing
He's nothing but a right-wing poser, he runs to siphon votes from Democrats, he know he'd never win. Forget ideological purity, the choice between Bush and Gore was clear, it was clear that Bush was all wrong to be President. If Nader was so progressive, he wouldn't have divided the vote and given Bush a clear path to the White House.

42. That's a bit presumptuous. Since when are Democrats entitled to votes rather than having
to earn them? If Nader got votes that Gore was expecting then Gore should have done more to earn them. The voters are entitled to vote for whoever the hell they want.

And more Democrats voted for Bush than for Nader but I don't see you bashing those voters.

What a heaping load of bullshit this blame Nader fuckery is.

I love Ralph Nader, and always will ...

But we live in a REAL world, and there is no way he could have done anything but hurt the Democrats ....

He could have backed out; He SHOULD have backed out of Florida, and he didn't ....

He succeeded in taking Gore out ....

Fuck the 2000 Nader, but he is still a great man for the good he HAS done ....

Now - DUers who stir the pot of rancors past ? .... hmmmmm ... what shall we say of them ?

Ralph knows who butters his bread, and it's not African-Americans. He therefore had no qualms about referring to President Obama as an "Uncle Tom" on election night. Easy Lebanesey-oops, did cross the line, Ralph? Hatred of blacks isn't exactly rare in Arab countries and it's not rare among Arabs.

41. 300,000 Dumb Ass registered Democrats voted for Bush ...
in Florida in 2000. And looking at DU these days I see a lot of right wing Democrats that could easily pass as Republicans and vote that way.

300,000 dumb ass Democrats easily swamps out the couple of hundred difference that cost Gore the 2000 election.
