LIMBAUGH: My guess in even in Canada and even in the UK, doctors have opted out. And once they’ve opted, they can’t see anybody Medicare, Medicaid, or what will become the exchanges. They have to have a clientele of private patients that will pay them a retainer and it’ll be a very small practice. I don’t know if that’s been outlawed in the Senate bill. I don’t know. I’ll just tell you this, if this passes and it’s five years from now and all that stuff gets implemented — I am leaving the country. I’ll go to Costa Rica.

Gotta go to a tiny Central American country to find a place without public health care, huh?

Low cost and pretty good. I almost died in Costa Rica and spent some time in a public hospital there. Good treatment by qualified doctors and nurses.

Didn't cost too much.


When Rush is talking about moving somewhere the one factor I KNOW he is making sure of is if they have prostitutes and the younger the better.

Much better than those in the Dominican Republic.

I think there are a few uninhabited islands off the coast of South America that might be suitable for him. Maybe a ship will come every six months and leave him some supplies.

Sorry Mr. Limbaugh, but a lot of other prosperous nations outside the USA have "socialised medicine". I'm sure that Uganda, Saudi Arabia, or any other nation that shares your reactionary, anti-gay, bigoted, old-fashioned views will welcome you with open arms. Oh yeah, Uganda is proposing a law to kill all gays, you might wanna go there and lobby just like your buddies in the religious right.

Costa Rica? As many posters point out here, it, too, is a modern nation with universal heath care. You won't like it.

Perhaps we should build a time machine and give you a one-way ticket to the Roman Empire, c. AD 350. It will have everything you like. It was an authoritarian society where workers (called "slaves") had no health care, no work place rights or any right to organize for better wages (starting with the right to collect them) and working conditions. Not to mention that by AD 350 Christianity was the official state religion, where pagans were persecuted.

Of course, Rush, you still won't find it a perfect world. It seems they had an immigration problem. Perhaps you can warn them about the dangers of allowing the Goths to cross the Danube River. Perhaps what the Roman Empire needed was a demagogue or two to rile up the masses. You might feel a little strange at first railing against the Goths, however; you see, Rush, unlike Mexicans, they're white. But you'll get used to it.

And frankly I wouldn't want Costa Rica pissed off at us for dumping our garbage barge on their shores.
