Seems like I remember some rumors about Roberts at the time he was confirmed, but nothing ever came of them.

4. The resignation rumor was evidently a prank started by a Georgetown law professor . . .
to illustrate the lack of credibility of informants who do not explain their sources. Evidently, his students tweeted his falsehood and it went viral from there.
