It was funny drunken frat party talk -- about Dirty Sanchezes and "snorkeling" -- but not really appropriate for a so-called news program. And believe me, I ain't no prude. It just seemed more like two guys yukking it up over as many dirty things they could think of, not really any kind of enlightened/enlightening commentary.

Maybe it's just me.

3. I think he's getting tired. He's working very hard. I fear "Countdown" is finished.
Keith shows no sign of returning. When my mother died, I was right there with her, and while it broke my heart, I dealt with it. As she would have wanted me to, because she dealt with loss in her own life.

Keith has given up. He doesn't want to do the show anymore. Move Rachel to 8 p.m., and let Keith go his way. Lawrence has done a fine job, but he's fed up. It showed tonight.

I wish I had taken more time off to be with my Dad when he was dying. I don't begrudge him that and I look forward to his return. I certainly hope people don't start using his berevement time to start another one of these stupid "KO's going away" rumors. That would be reprehensible. Of course some people have zero shame.

But yeah, O'Donnel... with the exception of an occasional insight you wouldn't get from Keith because he'snever been a DC staffer:

9. About a week after his father lost consciousness.
Jeez, people. He's been at his father's side ever since, and the old guy is hanging in there and getting incrementally better (although he's not awake yet). Anybody who would begrudge Keith the right to spend this time with his father, and ascribe it to his "not wanting to do the show anymore," is just not paying attention.
