Obama Gets His Mojo Back

http://news.yahoo.com/s/dailybeast/20100311/ts_dailybeast/7058_obamaseesthelight

NEW YORK – His whole career has been based on the idea of transcending partisanship. But lately, by confronting Republicans rather than courting them, Obama has Democrats fired up.

Amidst the speculation over whether David Axelrod hates Rahm Emanuel or Rahm Emanuel hates David Axelrod or Lawrence Summers hates them both, the punditocracy has glossed over something significant: Team Obama has had one hell of a month. In late January, health care reform was widely considered dead. Now it’s considered a better than even bet. It could all still end in tears, of course. But for the moment, Barack Obama has his mojo back. And he has it back for one basic reason: He’s given up the dream that he could transcend the partisan divide.

When Obama showed that he wasn’t afraid of enraging Republicans by passing health care through “reconciliation,” a lot of congressional Democrats decided that they weren’t afraid either.

5. Not too shabby
I'd send the drummer to a gym though - that man has breasts!

I will not tell him that.

Actually, he filled in for our regular guy, but he has breasts too.

I wasn't too happy w/ that performance actually. We pulled it together at the end, but it's much better w/ our usual drummer.

10. Nice job on the harmonica, by the way
I like to hear someone who can really play that instrument. Too many people are either useless or try to do too much on the harmonica.

I hardly think so.

Howard Dean knows how to fire me up. Obama doesn't cut it nowadays.

6. I for one, a late supporter of Obama, never thought that he had lost it in the first place!
Some of you guys are tired of that "Chess Player" metaphor, while I don't even play the fucking game in the first place. But that seems to describe him best. He has NEVER taken his eyes from the ball! (Yes, I know. Mixed metaphors). I expect that in the next several months, he'll live up to his earlier expectations. And shame many of his fair weather ex-supporters!

A "lapsed anarchist for Obama", I apologize to NOBODY for that!

11. Not so much though, as " Financial reform deal fails, hopes for 2010 dim "
is the headline as Reuters right now. So apparently not any type of useful Mojo, just the kind that encourages others to speechify like he does then accomplish nothing.

15. So why isn't Dodd including the entire committee? WTF is up with that?
First he tries to make the arrangement "equal" with Repubs by excusing everyone but himself and Corker, and now he wants to do things by himself? Has everyone in the Senate forgotten that there were elections in Nov that gave them a majority and the voters expected to see a majority rule?

Oh, that's right, Obama has set the tone for bowing to Repubs demands. I have no faith in Todd accomplishing much more at this point. I hope for all our sakes I'm wrong. However even if he comes up with something that actually has teeth, the whole process is being done in a way that ignores that fact that people went out in droves in Nov to have their votes count and Obama is leading the way in "equalizing" our voices out of the equation.
