Dem Fundraisers Need To Watch How They Talk To Us Voters......
I just got off a call from a Dem Fundraiser trying to raise funds for upcoming Senatorial races. He went through his spiel about how they needed money and then I politely told him that the Dems need to get some things accomplished and that I need this health care to pass. He then proceeded to tell me that the problem in Congress is the Repugs fault because they are filibustering. I proceeded to tell him we gave the Dems the WH, the majority in the Senate and the majority in the House and that they aren't coming through for us. He said he's only talking for the Senate and the Repugs have 41 votes. When I started to talk again - he began to talk over me and became very argumentative. I had to tell him to stop talking and when I started talking again - he began to talk over me again - kind of like he was filibustering. I told him to call me back when healthcare passes. He was very upset with me - yelled some things again and then hung up on me.

If this is the type of people that the Dems have on the phones fundraising for them - I'm sorry - I probably won't cough up any dollars - this time around.

I'm wondering if anyone else experienced similar interactions with these fundraisers.

I don't know who this guy was - but he's giving the Dems a bad name. Don't these people get training as to how to handle us disgruntled voters that supported the Dems to get them where they are now - but are now disappointed at the results?

Somebody needs to school these telephone fundraisers so that they don't piss us off when they are asking for more money to get so little done.

2. Eh, don't blame him, probably just a volunteer, young, enthusiastic...
...blame the dickwads who are lying to him so that when he does realize how ineffective Dems are, he'll become just as jaded as us.

3. you're not supposed to have an opinion -- they only want your cash.
They don't want voters with opinions. They don't want voters who REQUIRE more than lip service. They just want your cash.

How DARE you pay attention to what we are doing -- just give us your credit card number, STFU and STFD. :sarcasm: sorta..

9. You Know It's Interesting - When Lobbyists Give Money To Our Elected Representatives.......
Edited on Thu Mar-11-10 08:23 PM by global1
they do so with an understanding that they are going to get something in return. Quid Pro Quo. In the run up to the 2008 Presidential Election - rank and file American's gave money to the Dem campaign because we believed in the platform they were running on. We believed the campaign promises. Now we - like the lobbyists expect something in return - the quid pro quo - so far they haven't delivered to the extent that warrants us giving more.

If they want money for their future campaigns - either they make good on their promises - or they can go to the corporations and lobbyists that they are cow towing to.

10. after the SCOTUS ruling, we can pretty much kiss our one vote, one voice goodbye
Anyone who thinks their vote gives them an actual voice in government from now on really needs a wakeup call. Sure, the babykissing and pretty speeches will continue for the phot-ops, but the reps won't have to do much else than pose with the unwashed masses.

It's the corporations ruling the roost now.

7. I sent a fundraising survey back to the DNC recently
with every available white space filled in with feedback and told them to not expect money from me until some action started happening. I put a stamp on it though.
