I do

My next door, FOXNEWS,lovin' neighbor - and I live in MA

He's had it with the war and willing to vote for a Dem if it isn't Hillary

He says he wishes Gore would run, thinks Obama lacks experience but would vote for either Edwards or Obama over Hillary.

He is totally disinterested in the Republicans at this point;as campaigns get close to election day he usually swallows FOX propaganda whole although this past cycle in MA he didn't like the campaign tactics Kerry Healey employed over Deval Patrick. He told me he voted for Deval Patrick(it might have helped that I was a precinct captain for Deval and he listened to me for about 15 months)

1. My cubemate has embraced the Koolaid for life
Of course everytime she starts talking it has gotten to the point where I will actively tell her "Bullshit." Straight and solid. She hasn't come up with a retort for that yet.

She has issues...fuck, she has a while subscription...

2. I do , but my story is different. I know several conservatives who
will not vote repuke in the next election and they say they will vote for Hillary.

They're 50ish and say they realize and (now) will admit the 90's were great compared to the previous years and the last 6 have been awful.

3. Same thing here
I work with several 50-60 year old conservatives, and they are saying that they will vote for Hillary or Obama....most want a Hillary/Obama ticket. They are adamant that they will not be voting for a Republican, no matter who the person is.

10. It may not matter how you vote, even if there are elections.
Bu$h needs to be reigned in before he attacks Iran. Iran has the backing of both Russia and China. Plus they have a military and the means to defend themselves. We may not last the final two years of the growing bush madness.

Puke warning: she wants Tancredo for prez. And it's all because of his stand on immigration. "That trumps his anti-choice position." :grr:

She will vote for Tancredo or Giuliani, or against Hillary. Any other candidates & she says she will stay home. Let's hope for that! I believe Hillary will energize the republican base in an incredible way. They hate her. They loathe her. They will be eager to go to the polls & vote against her regardless of who is on the republican ticket.

on edit: On reading the two prior responses I'm so sad that my mom isn't one of these types. Maybe I overstate the repub case against Hillary to strongly?

8. For most Republicans, Republicanism
is almost a religion( cannot think of a better way to
describe this behavior). When disgusted with their
party, they tend to stay home and not vote or may vote
only part of the ballot. There are some (few will
consider looking for more conservative Democrats or
what they perceive as conservative. Fiscal Issues.

7. My daughter in Indiana.
She wouldn't budge (very stubborn anyway) up until the last election. Then she called me to congratulate me and said, "Let's just agree that bush is a real screw up, but I'm not changing parties." She did say that she was disappointed that Evan Bayh dropped out because she would have voted for him.

9. "Political barometer?" I prefer the use of "political geiger counter"
This people are hot all the time; they're radioactive. But lately, the "ticks" just aren't as loud or numerous. I know a couple (family and co-worker) and I gage the political landscape by their behavior more than what they say (or don't say). I've noticed a couple of these people have been veeeerrrry quiet of late and display a very subdued disposition bordering on catatonic. It's as if their world is crumpling around them and they can no longer derive comfort from "Der Führer." I suspect they are finally waking up to the fact that Bush lied to them and deceived them.

I find when chided to engage in political discussion, many of them are opting out by saying something like, "Oh, well...I don't think about that much anymore. I have more important things affecting my life right now." Then they go on to describe some personal crisis. A couple of years ago, they would ape the neo-con fascist talking points...but no more.

Yeah, their world is crumbling around them...but they brought this on themselves.
