Blanche Lincoln Vows to Vote No on Reconciliation in Senate
Blanche Lincoln Vows to Vote No on Reconciliation in Senate

The Hill is reporting that:

"Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) will oppose the House reconciliation health bill when her chamber votes on it later this week. ...

"'The Reconciliation package devised by the House includes matter unrelated to health care and employs a legislative process that wasn't subject to the same transparency and thorough debate that we used in the Senate,' she said in prepared remarks. 'I cannot support this process.'"

"The Senate needs 51 votes to pass the reconciliation package."

6. what a crock
I'll bet this is the only time she's complained about matters 'unrelated' to the subject of legislation. What a disappointment she is. She'll NEVER please the cretins she's catering to in her state. She'll deserve to be plowed under with this latest surrender to her republican critics.

10. Even Emily's List won't give Lincoln a single dime - Lincoln deceived them
Lincoln promised to always vote pro-choice and yet supported the partial-birth abortion ban that did not include safeguards for the mother's life.

Emily's List helped elect Lincoln in the first place. Without them she's dead woman walking. If she does lose in the primaries she'll be gone in the general election.

18. Not surprised. She's my Senator, but I plan on getting rid of her!
From a MoveOn.org fundraising email:

Blanche Lincoln is one of the worst corporate Democrats in Washington. That's why 92 percent of Arkansas MoveOn members voted to support Bill Halter over Blanche Lincoln in a primary election. Instead of fighting for the health care reform Arkansas families desperately need, she took nearly a million ($866,000) from Big Insurance and HMO interests and then played a leading role in opposing the public health insurance option. She took $1.3 million from Wall Street banks and helped kill legislation that would've allowed struggling homeowners to stay in their homes. And she sponsored a bill to roll back the Clean Air Act to protect corporate profits. With Bill Halter, our Arkansas members see a candidate who will stand up to special interests. Arkansans deserve someone who'll fight for them, not Wall Street.

23. There is a very good chance that rethugs will get the senate
seat and 3 congress critters in Arkansas. The rednecks are extremely pissed off. Everywhere you go people are talking out loud to strangers about how mad they are. I've been aroud a long time but I've never seen anything quite like thisbefore in Arkansas. I don't know what to think.

25. Blanche was going to lose...no matter what she did.
She's an anachronism in her state. AR is trending more and more to the right.. to the FAR right.

Blanche needs to just go home & "spend more time with her family".. she's done.

In her place will probably be another rightwing goofball, who will fit in quite well with the other rightwing goofballs already in DC..
