Thought I would toss out a little bit of good news
My son, whose wife is expecting in Sept., won't have to deploy to Iraq until after the baby is born.

He was set to go in August, but they are letting him stay here until mid-September.

His training (for 4 weeks in CA) is still going down in May/June and he will be out of touch with his wife for a spell, but then he has 3 weeks off in July.

Lord willing I will be able to head down and see him (He wanted me to come in April when he has 4 days off, just no way to get there). His deployment is 12-16 months and if all goes well his mother-in-law will be down in Texas to help out the wife (he has two young kids already).

He will be doing guard duty (convoys and such) as part of Operation New Dawn. And he will, at times, be able to hook up with me on Facebook/Yahoo/etc.

If I am able will find a ride down there in July and stay a few weeks with him and the grandkids (doubt the ole jalopy would make the trip) - but either way I am very happy he will get to stay behind a few weeks to be with his wife while she is in the hospital.

I told him tonight when he updated me that there were a lot of people online pulling for him and his wife and kids in all of this.

When he gets out of the army he wants to be a teacher.

Get your ass home safe! Miss you already.

2. That is good news
My friend's son was able to be there for his baby's birth (they induced to be sure) but he had to go back to war a few days later.
Let's bring them all home!
