1. According to Tony Snowjob, they are just numbers!
:grr: Bush doesn't give a rat's a$$. Didn't his father refer to the troops as cannon fodder? Why would Jr. be any different?

that is, when he thinks about them at all.

6. If he would even go to one funeral
Some of these Wisconsin kids are so young... they just graduated from high school a few years ago. They didn't get a chance to do so many things and now they never will. Small town kids that everybody knew and everybody will miss. So much pain caused by each death and all these arrogant men making decisions without ever thinking of the cost. They don't want to see the suffering they cause.

I don't believe that Roosevelt was that kind of man. Lincoln felt the pain of death caused by war. And at least Johnson, who was capable of depression, felt something. But to Bush, its utterly trivial, he feels nothing.

This man is so full of denial. I wonder what he would do if one of his parents died while he was in office... probably fall to pieces. He'd have to go to the funeral.

much the same way. Personally I think george uses our troops as bait for his oily wars.

18. And his mother is no better.
She made that terrible comment about the displaced people in New Orleans ~ GW is a true son-of-a-bitch! haha

But some rich, white, powerful people really do think of those lower on the totem pole as subhuman. Sad.

19. Ted Koppel did a Nightline
back when the number of casualties was under 1000- I think it was around 800. All they were doing was reading the names and showing the pictures of the Americans who had lost their lives in this war. There was a lot of criticism because it was "political". How was it political?

Well I watched it and there was no commentary at all but two things struck me: 1) what a waste of life when nobody really knew what the war was for, and 2) minorities were over-represented. There were more black and hispanic men among the dead than caucasian men. (There were women, but not that many.) I am guessing that means that minority men have less opportunity, and are more likely to volunteer for the army, and hence more likely to die in war. That's how it was in vietnam. That's how it is in Iraq. Something isn't right. Its always the rich white men deciding to go to war, but rarely their sons and daughters who are risking their lives.

24. There are no words to describe how wrong it is.
imo impeachment is not nearly enough ~ I'd like to see key members of the administration tried for war crimes. I know it's probably not legally possible, but it seems like the right response.
