Bush vetoed funds for the troops. Period.

Control the language in this debate and we'll win it.

1. The editors and producers control the language
and they seem to be, by and large, in the pocket of the neo-cons.

5. Write, write, write.
LTTE's. Blogs.

Call local radio shows (as much as it is a pain in the ass doing so).

Get the language out there. This is what we call a little "social engineering" of thought. Hell, the right-wing does this incessantly.

2. Exactly. Dems should repeat over and over
"Well we provided the funding that our troops NEED, and that the president requested, and he responded by denying our troops those funds."

3. absolutely, positively correct, and therein lies the eternal dilemma:
the MEDIA control the way each and every controversial debate is framed, and the almost always frame it in a manner to benefit the powers that be: corporate America, who controls the public party 100%, and the DLC/Dem party to only a lesser degree.

that said, the need for EVERY democrat on TV, cause that's the battlefield of public opinion, unfortunately, to insist that this money is FOR THE TROOPS, and insist it loudly, and, well, insistently, is of the utmost importance

of course, lacking media savvy, they won't

it's so discouraging to see most of our 'reps/spokespeople' get left at the gate by smooth-talking shills at almost every turn.
