Sometimes I Think Finding A Job
Sometimes I think finding a job in this economy is as unlikely as winning the lottery. I can see how folks get discouraged and quit but my fiancee and I don't have that luxury.

I am doing some odd jobs for friends to supplement the income I make from my primary business (publishing) which is fledgling but the money I earn from that is like a grain of sand on the beach compared to my needs. My fiancee is a senior accountant with twenty years of experience. She responds to every relevant posting in over a dozen cities. We will move if we have to for a good job. I get up and post her resume every morning in over a dozen locations on craigslist.

This is unbelievable.

5. Since she's skilled in property mgmt accounting.....
...maybe she should look into property maagement. She already knows the hard part. I own apts in Texas and our property management firm takes 6%, which in my case amounts to about $100K/yr. She could take some courses on real estate law and be off and running in a few months. All she would need to do is land a couple of accounts like mine to start making really good money! My BIL handles our account and several others in Dallas, and he's living pretty large. Once you're in the business, there are other opportunities to make big bucks, buying and selling commercial properties. The knowledge of what units are worth and what it takes to renovate them can lead to very lucrative deals.
If they are iffy, walk away, but if you catch a motivated seller (and there are lots of them in the leasing business these days), it can be a great opportunity!
