1. WRONG, they are poll testing their apologetics.
They would be foolhardy to just go out and say, all you freaks stop it. They will allow that nothing is proved, but they are for peace. Yadda yadda.,

Furthermore, they must determine the best way not to drive a wedge between the teabaggers and GOP.

3. If this were only a fringe group of GOP, they would have no problem

in condemning such action. We are left to conclude this
sentiment runs deeply and widely enough anomg the Rank and File
Republicans that the Party cannot condemn this without bringing
wrath upon themselves.

Add on: Check out Sons of Liberty and Neo-Nazi Groups.
Militia Groups --I find it interesting the GOP must not
condemn.

6. I remember when Rene Levesque lost the Quebec Independence vote.

His supporters were so upset. He said to them "la prochaine fois, la prochaine fois" (the next time). He was southing his followers.

Have we seen any southing from the right? Anything at all? Cause there really has been a time and a place when politicians didn't want their followers to suffer.

8. Its Not Just Silence, Many Are Defending Such Actions As Rightous Expressions of Anger
Several ELECTED members of Congress have justified such acts on the grounds that the people are angry. Hey, many folks were downright incensed that WMDs was a complete fraud on the American public resulting in thousands of deaths! Yet, no elected Democrats encouraged or justified the intimidation of Republican elected leaders.
