Castro death party in Miami? Can we have one of these type parties too?
Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 10:23 AM by Philosoraptor
I see where they are having a Cuban/American 'Castro Death Party', pre emptively celebrating the death of the much loathed commie. Can we have similarly themed parties as well?

I can think of more than a few pinatas I'd like to bash with a baseball bat at such a swa ray. Would it be too tacky to have a dick cheney death party, especially today, on his shameful birthday?

Tomas Regalado, the City Commissioner and a Cuban American, came up with the idea of using the Orange Bowl as the venue for an event scheduled to coincide with the Cuban leader's death. The site was host to President Kennedy in 1961 when he delivered a speech promising a free Cuba. It also served as a refugee camp for Cubans during the Mariel boatlift.

When the news came last summer of Castro's grave illness, firming up the specifics for the "death party" became urgent. Now a committee has formally been appointed to "Discuss an event at the Orange Bowl in case expected events occur in Cuba."

The organizers want an uplifting theme for the event. Regalado explains that Castro "represents everything bad that has happened to the people of Cuba for 48 years."

"There is something to celebrate, regardless of what happens next. ... We get rid of the guy."

1. I've Had the Champagne Cooling For A Year and a Half
waiting for a true occasion to celebrate (I was too tired after working the polls in November, and there's still the Lieberman dilemma.....I want a pure, unmitigated celebration!)

3. I expect dancing in the street here
on or before (we hope) Jan 20, 2009. This is a working class and very low level professional type of area, one that has been hit hard by the GOP and their stupid economic policies.

I'll be distributing noisemakers and providing some of the edible goodies.

4. I have a couple all lined up..
As soon as the person (people) (who of course must remain nameless) who's death is to be celebrated helps the world as a whole by finally kicking the bucket I will post information so everyone can come and enjoy themselves.

5. Castro Could Make Super Bowl Sunday Really Interesting
Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 11:56 AM by Lobster Martini
If Fidel Castro summoned up the nobleza to die on Sunday, the
Official Death Party could occur simultaneously with Super
Bowl XXXVIII, with roughly 3,500 media representatives (more
than three times the population of North Key Largo) in the
Miami area to cover the two events. What a great way to show
the world that Americans really are caring, sensitive people.
The only way to make this scenario more interesting would be
to have the NFL transport Castro by MedEvac helicopter to
Dolphin Stadium so that he could die on the 50 yard line
during halftime. Why not? The worst that could happen would
be a cigar malfunction.

It is time to change the batteries in the TV remote. Sunday
may be the Banzai Pipeline of channel surfing.
