It Was NOT Cantor's Campaign Office (not even in his congressional district)
Edited on Fri Mar-26-10 11:47 AM by kpete
The strange thing is that Cantor's story was never really plausible, and he had to know it. The so-called "campaign office" didn't have any visible signs linking it to Cantor. It wasn't even in his congressional district.

................

1. Cantor was never threatened. In fact, local police believe the bullet had been fired in the air, and ended up hitting a window at random.

2. It wasn't Cantor's campaign office.

.....the building isn't even in Eric Cantor's congressional district, and it's not his campaign headquarters.

Instead, the building is actually in Virginia's 3rd congressional district. Cantor represents the 7th.

3. The office was not "shot up." According to a statement from the Richmond Police Department, "The round struck with enough force to break the windowpane but did not penetrate the window blinds. There was no other damage to the room."

1. So the Eric Cantor "shooting score card" is as follows:
Edited on Fri Mar-26-10 11:49 AM by Botany
1) Random shot in the air ..... the gun was not aimed at anything.

2) I was not his campaign office but in a building w/ no Cantor signs that could be seen
from the outside. The building housed a consulting firm that did business w/ Cantor.

3) It did not even happen in his district.

anybody please double check if my facts are right.

6. They don't even bother to read the police report. I guess that shows
how completely unreliable CNN and MSNBC and the other news outlets are. Of course Fox is just spouting crap as usual.

7. I just sent this to Ed and Rick Sanchez.
Maybe if enough of us send the real story to the media, they'll be forced to report it.

10. Did Cantor claim that he was "directly threatened"
your first link says so- I can't find any offical text for his statement.

the first link quotes him as saying:
""Just recently I have been directly threatened: A bullet was shot through the window of my campaign office in Richmond this week."

That sentence along with the Police statement should be placed side by side and shown for the INTENTIONAL mis-representation that it is.

Not saying that it's ok to have 'random' bullets flying around, but I'm hearing that this is NOT something unusual for Richmond? (is that true?) And if so, Cantor is guilty of lying.
