Email to CNN regarding Eric Cantor shooting incident.
I find it unfortunate that CNN would continue to perpetuate the story about a so-called shooting at what is being called Eric Cantor's "campaign" office. First, it's not even his campaign office it is the office of a political consultant used by Cantor called Marcus & Allen. Second, the office isn't even in Cantor's Congressional district. There are absolutely no markings on the building that would indicate that the office has anything to do with Eric Cantor. Yet Cantor claims he was specifically targeted. Third, the Richmond PD police report has said that the bullet was randomly fired. Eric Cantor is clearly trying to use this situation to try to say there is political violence being carried out on both sides of the political spectrum. A backlash of the recent healthcare reform bill being passed. It is a cheap ploy and Cantor has clearly manufactured this event for the benefit of the news media. Shame on CNN for not checking out the facts of this case and shame on Eric Cantor for misleading the country and his constituents. I'm one of them.

Sent it to The Situaution Room and to Jack Cafferty. Any suggestions on where else to send it? I sent that info to Jed Lewison at Daily Kos, he printed it up. Thanks Jed.

5. And he'll make you think CNN cares about what you think
That's Jack's Role, to make you think that CNN cares what you think!

Here's a great bit by American comedian in exile, Doug Stanhope from the BBC show Newswipe on Jack Cafferty.

9. Yeah he offends me the least
Not to hijack this, but Cafferty is the least offensive of the CNN folks because he shows a modicum of human empathy and decency in his well-placed outrage.

Cantor needs to be shown as a liar, but the liberal media isnt, so I won't hold my breath.

20. Jack was a local news anchor for years
until he showed up blasted on the evening news. He has a larger audience now, is clean, and at least he covers both sides now. Does he care? Dunno, but I'll be happy with him if he just reads the OP on the air.

11. Well, first understand that the media is owned by rich white republican men
That it needs to be said is unfortunate and speaks volumes to the effectiveness of corporate propaganda in its central role of obscuring the importance of media ownership rules.

13. Wow, Cantor is sure reaching here. Building not in his district and
not a noticeable campaign office. What is he trying to do? There are those who have been truly threatened and harmed. This is out there even for any politician.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/3/26/851031/-Cantors-campaign-office-isnt-in-his-congressional-district

Probably because the building isn't in Cantor's CD, it doesn't have any actual campaign posters or other markings to indicate that Cantor has an office inside it. Moreover, the building's address is not listed on his campaign website, so even if the bullet hadn't been fired randomly, it's virtually impossible to imagine how somebody could possibly have decided to target this location.

18. AGREED ... It is an uphill battle ...
if this was a D, he or she would be LAMBASTED by now and there would be LOUD cries for at least the resignation of his or her leadership position ...

It is an uphill battle cause it is an R, but this douchebag needs to be held accountable for it ...

16. This Lie Carefully Orchestrated to Bolster the False Equivalence Lie
That the Left and the Right Fringe elements are equivalent.

Expect CNN to ignore this, as the purveyors of Fine American News Products designed to confuse and obscure, they fucking Love False Equivalence.

17. his own words condemn him-
"By ratcheting up the rhetoric, some will only inflame these situations to dangerous levels,"

"Enough is enough. It has to stop."

"It is reckless to use these incidents as media vehicles for political gain,"

on the very same day he said:

"Just recently, I have been directly threatened," ... "A bullet was shot through the window of my campaign office in Richmond this week"

a stray bullet at one in the morning in an area known for this kind of incident is a 'direct threat'?

Who is inflaming this situation??

That was my very first thought.

And I knew the media would give it almost as much airtime as the quitter-governor bubble-headed quasi-babe Palin in the ass.
