"Jesus Wouldn't Repossess Someone's Car"
I was visiting a Fundamentalist minister that I have know since I was a young teen ager, which is about thirty five years. The subject came around to this terrible economy and the preacher mentioned that one of his congregants works for a car repossession company. I said "Jesus wouldn't repossess someone's car especially a car he or she used for work ,just because the person has fallen on hard times."

I should have mentioned "I don't think Jesus would have foreclosed on someone either."

Then we got around to talking about our favorite books in the Bible. He mentioned "Romans". I told him my favorite book was "Acts" because it discussed how the early Christians lived and how they lived as primitive communists:

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

He is very conservative. I am surprised he didn't try to explain away how the early Christians were communists but he didn't, to his credit.
