Emailed lies re: HCR & my response with Sen. Grassley's own words

An acquaintance of mine in CT today sent out a mass email full of lies about HCR and Obama. Here's the exchange (pun intended), below. Don't ask me why a repug included me in a mass email to 99% repugs. He should know I would respond with some facts to all on the email list.

It would be helpful if you mass emailed correct information about the health care bill instead of a 7 month-old video (which I could not open, BTW).

Grassley introduces free-standing bill to apply health reforms to White House and all of Congress

As it stands, thanks to Grassley’s Finance Committee passed amendment, members of Congress and their personal staffs will be required to obtain their health insurance coverage through the newly created health care exchanges. Members and personal staffs will only be able to use their employer contribution to buy health care coverage in the exchange. Individuals will receive an age-adjusted contribution from the Office of Personnel Management with which to purchase a plan.


However, because the Senate rejected the amendment offered by Grassley last December and this week, committee and leadership staff in Congress, as well as the President, Vice President, the President’s cabinet and White House staff, will continue to access the Federal Employees Health Benefit Program.


Yesterday, the White House announced that the President planned to participate in the health insurance exchanges that the reform law will begin in 2014. “This is effectively an endorsement of my legislation to make sure political leaders live under the laws they pass for everyone else, and I appreciate it,” Grassley said. “The principle shouldn’t be voluntary for political leaders, though.” snip

Funny thing. I was actually thinking that we needed to get a national petition circulating that would make a law that states the same thing as the 28th Amendment to the constitution. Funny how those founding fathers thought of everything. Only problem is that the rest of us have forgotten what is in the most sacred document on the face of the earth next to the Bible. We should all get a copy of our constitution and learn it and live by it. This is wrong!!!! PLEASE PASS IT ON!!!!

AND JOIN THE NEW 'UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE PROGRAM' THAT THE REST OF US WILL BE ON ????"

THERE WAS A STONEY SILENCE AS OBAMA IGNORED THE QUESTION AND CHOSE NOT TO ANSWER IT !!!

IN ADDITION, A NUMBER OF SENATORS WERE ASKED THE SAME QUESTION AND THEIR ESPONSE WAS."WE WILL THINK ABOUT IT."

AND THEY DID. IT WAS ANNOUNCED TODAY ON THE NEWS THAT THE "KENNEDY HEALTH CARE BILL" WAS WRITTEN INTO THE NEW HEALTH CARE REFORM INITIATIVE ENSURING THAT THAT CONGRESS WILL BE 100% EXEMPT !

SO, THIS GREAT NEW HEALTH CARE PLAN THAT IS GOOD FOR YOU AND I... IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR OBAMA, HIS FAMILY OR CONGRESS...??

WE (THE AMERICAN PUBLIC) NEED TO STOP THIS PROPOSED DEBACLE ASAP !!!! THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG !!!!!

PERSONALLY, I CAN ONLY ACCEPT A UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE OVERHAUL THAT EXTENDS TO EVERYONE... NOT JUST US LOWLY CITIZENS.... WHILE THE WASHINGTON "ELITE" KEEP RIGHT ON WITH THEIR GOLD-PLATED HEALTH CARE COVERAGES.
