First Two Reps Cosponsor Kucinich Impeachment Bill!
Edited on Wed May-02-07 02:31 AM by emlev
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) announced on the Peter B. Collins show Tuesday that Rep. Clay of Missouri and Rep. Schakowsky of Illinois have become the first two co-sponsors of his bill to impeach Cheney, which is H Res. 333.

The interview is archived here. (Scroll down to select May 1 show.) It's in the third hour of the three-hour show.

Let's congratulate Clay and Schakowsky and tell our Reps to get on board!

1. Sigh -- Barbara Lee still hasn't decided
Why is this so difficult? Especially for someone like Lee who's probably in the safest Democratic district in the country??

4. Because Cheney is an evil man
He does evil things ... these are outstanding, courageous individuals who've stepped forward.

Edited on Wed May-02-07 02:43 AM by jgraz
She's probably got the most left-wing street cred of anyone in Congress, yet she won't support this bill. What's going on here?

ETA: I'm calling her tomorrow. Again.

8. Jan's An Unsung Hero
I'll bet few here on DU know who she is, but she's been working behind the scenes to help Progressive and Liberal candidates and causes. Remember, she's also close to Rahm Emmanuel (both in districts...next to each other...and personally)...methinks her co-sponorship is being done with his wink and nod.

I'm curious to see where this movement will go. No doubt Chenney is dangerous and needs to be removed. The question is the resolve of our politicians and the stomache people have to not only go against this regime, but its corporate media toadies who will turn any impeachment inquiry into some devious attempt to overthrow the government.

I doubt it will go anywhere but no harm in trying! ;)

Apparently not many are willing to go against this regime!

26. Here's what I did.
I filled out the form with my own information, but then selected Chicago for the city from the drop down box. It let it go through that way even though the zip code didn't match. In the body of my thank you I let her know I was from another district, did not expect a response, but wanted to let her know how I felt. Hope that helps!

15. Nice to see sponsors.
I was expecting Kucinich's impeachment resolution to get buried post haste. The sponsors and the noise generated over the web and with letters, emails and phone calls to Congress will make this resolution much harder to ignore.

25. Clay was, briefly, my represenative...
For about a year I lived in his district, in U-City, but I had to move out due to a job change. It really wasn't my choice, I traded him for Akin, who is one of the worse members of Congress. I would LOVE to have a Democrat unseat Akin, but he almost always gets 2/3rds of the vote around here.
