CNN's Erick Erickson Threatens to Use Shotgun On Census Survey Takers

While Erick Erickson of Redstate and CNN has supported filling out the Census forms, a more detailed survey called the American Community Survey got his ire (h/t Think Progress). In fact, he threatened to pull out his wife’s shotgun if he were forced to fill it out.

ERICKSON: This is crazy. What gives the Commerce Department the right to ask me how often I flush my toilet? Or about going to work? I’m not filling out this form. I dare them to try and come throw me in jail. I dare them to. Pull out my wife’s shotgun and see how that little ACS twerp likes being scared at the door. They’re not going on my property. They can’t do that. They don’t have the legal right, and yet they’re trying.

The ACS is sent out between the decennial Census forms to a sample of the population, and Americans are required to comply. Occasionally survey takers may follow up via phone or in-person visits to those who don’t answer the questions.

I gave up paying for shit on the TeeVee two years ago and have not regretted the decision once. If there is something I really want to see it is not hard at all to either get it on the 'Net or watch it at a friend's house.

I actually wonder how Americans can afford to pay monthly $100+ cable bills and $100. cell phone bills. While I could easily pay for those things, I know that there are millions of americans struggling and hoping they can pay the light bill or the gas bill each month. Paying hard-earned money to consume the likes of Tweety or FOX News just seems bizarre to me.
