The miners need Mother Jones. Again.

She organized the first labor unions in the mines. Striking miners were attacked by the US Army, for god's sake... and one old Irish immigrant woman stood up and made them act like the men they were...and coal miners' unions were born.

My daughter recently checked the US history books used at her H.S. Not a single one mentions Mother Jones.

2. I find it heartbreaking that those miners are more afraid of standing up and organizing than going
down into an unsafe mining KNOWING that if they are killed, the company will fight their families for benefits every step of the way.

Mourn the dead and fight like hell for the living!

3. Maybe they need a new batch of scrappy Irish immigrants to
get them organized.

4. Mo Jo was called "the most dangerous woman in America"...
the song "she'll be coming 'round the mountain" is about her!

When she started labor organization in the US, there was NO labor law. Young children worked 12 hour days!

She's a massive hero. No wonder we didn't learn about her in school.

Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.
