A question about marijuana potency...

Does the strength of today's pot worry you regarding legalization?

My Bro turned me on to some of his stash a while back and I couldn't find my car for two hours.

Now I know that most can handle the stuff just fine.... but damn.... us Rookies might have a rough go of it.

You can buy the lowest quality if you like, try several different strains until you get the one you prefer and that works for you. If you like, you can smoke less of the strong stuff or more of the weak stuff. It's your choice.

Forgot to say I only took two tokes off my Bro's stuff.

Stopping for green lights is quite likely to get you pulled over.

the possibilities of the legalization of pot and we figured that if it were in the potency it is now and was sold in the same amounts as an average cigarette you'd be able to charge around $200 for that pack and shitloads of people would still buy it and it would last most people most of an entire month.

Being more potent just means you don't have to smoke as much of it really.

There are many many strains of pot, and all affect you differently. You probably got some Indica which is pretty much couch potato pot. Knocks you on your ass and all you want to do is sit and eat. Sative would give you more of a heady high. Kush seems to work best for nausea which is why you see so much Kush at the dispensaries. There are strains and hybrid strains, and as we go further into legalization they will be doing even more crossbreeding.

I was going to post a site I knew of that showed different strains and their effects but apparently the canadian mounties didn't like the site. When I went to check it it was gone with a note from the RCMP that htey took over the site.

Sure, there will be some tinkering, but people are working on this stuff with little roadblocks caused by legalization status.

Sometimes I wonder how much will really change. Despite how much more info there is out there now, when I talk with my Dad about it (who grew over 30 years ago), he was doing all the same things then you know.

People have been cultivating marijuana for centuries. I don't expect to see any massive genetic breakthroughs. There are already thousands of strains available (though only a few main families)

You only get so stoned anyway. The comedian Gallagher back in the 80's had a bit he did. He said, "don't smoke dope when you're already stoned. You don't get any stoneder, you just get lower on dope!"
I stated back in the 70's and quit a few years ago. I get piss tested at work now. Good weed was always around. The great stuff now is more potent but it really doesn't get you way higher. Just a few hits should be enough for about anyone. Then repeat as necessary:)

Because in truth you're not going to see that much of it. Regular dirt weed can be had for reasonable prices but that super bud tends to run about 4x the price. So unless you're rollin' on a golden gravy train the last thing you have to worry about in this life is having weed that is too good to smoke.

When the Marijuana "receptor-sites" in your brain are stimulated for the first few times, it can be like being drunk. You should be in a safe environment, with good friends, good music and no driving agenda.

Human brains are wired for Marijuana, Cocaine and Opiates.

Note, there is no real receptor site for Methamphetamines.
Speed just scrapes it's way along through the brain sites and leaves a microscopically swiss cheesed brain behind.

If you try to chainsmoke joints, you'll just fall asleep.

Most smokers take one hit off kickass grass and put it out. Schwag is the stuff that takes several hits to get you there.

All this stuff about increased potency is just more DEA scare shit. Don't let it get to you. They're lying about that just like they lie about everything else. They want to keep their jobs and they want the billions of wasted money to keep rolling in.

No drug is completely harmless, of course. Grass comes the closest of any I know of.

Damn man, I took a few shots of Everclear, and let me tell you, I couldn't even find my ass. It was way stronger than whiskey & vodka I used to drink.

For example, it is not appropriate to ingest too much of ANYTHING and operate vehicles of any kind; or power tools and/or guns; or posting to political message boards, etc.

Most people who are "too high" (on pot) know it, and react accordingly.
