"The federal grand jury that is exploring allegations of abuses of power and prosecutorial authority against Sheriff Joe Arpaio and former County Attorney Andrew Thomas is meeting again this week.
Thomas resigned his position on Monday to run for attorney general.
The insider has learned that some employees within the County Attorney's Office are being or have been subpoenaed to testify before the grand jury this week. The jury last met the week of March 8.
Patricia Seguin, community outreach director for Maricopa County Superior Court, confirmed Tuesday that she testified before the grand jury for about 30 minutes on March 11.
“They just wanted to know about the sheriff's deputies visit to my home in December,” she said. “They wanted to know what it was like, what happened, and what questions they asked.”
One weekend last December, sheriff's deputies contacted more than a dozen county employees at home or work in connection with inquiries into the county's $340-million criminal court tower project and possibly other probes. Over the last two years, sheriff's deputies have contacted about 70 county officials at home or work, related to their probe, according to county officials."
