Federal grand jury probe into Arpaio, Thomas continues
"The federal grand jury that is exploring allegations of abuses of power and prosecutorial authority against Sheriff Joe Arpaio and former County Attorney Andrew Thomas is meeting again this week.

Thomas resigned his position on Monday to run for attorney general.

The insider has learned that some employees within the County Attorney's Office are being or have been subpoenaed to testify before the grand jury this week. The jury last met the week of March 8.

Patricia Seguin, community outreach director for Maricopa County Superior Court, confirmed Tuesday that she testified before the grand jury for about 30 minutes on March 11.

“They just wanted to know about the sheriff's deputies visit to my home in December,” she said. “They wanted to know what it was like, what happened, and what questions they asked.”

One weekend last December, sheriff's deputies contacted more than a dozen county employees at home or work in connection with inquiries into the county's $340-million criminal court tower project and possibly other probes. Over the last two years, sheriff's deputies have contacted about 70 county officials at home or work, related to their probe, according to county officials."

1. Finally!! Woot!
That disgusting sack of pig guts has been swaggering his shit around AZ long enough with no consequence to him. I guess there is something to the old adage "Give em enough rope...."

2. I'll believe it when I see the two of them in handcuffs.
Maricopa County is way too tolerant of their type of corruption for my liking.

Thomas may not be in office any more, but Arpaio can still do all kinds of harm. And Thomas may very well win a statewide office - which would be just plain scary.

3. If you unrecced this post, you don't belong on DU.
That Sheriff Joe is a fascist scumbag is one of the few things on which we should all be in unanimous agreement.
