Rachel Maddow tears Breitbart's ACORN tapes apart-(what was "Cut" from their "Investigation" Video)
Rachel Maddow tears Breitbart's ACORN tapes apart
The MSNBC host shows what James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles cut from their "investigation" into the group Video

VIDEO:
On Tuesday night, Rachel Maddow put a definitive end to the story -- pushed by Fox News Channel for six months -- that the "exposé" of ACORN by James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles on Andrew Breitbart's Web site showed the group involved in nefarious deeds. Using the unedited tapes released by California Attorney General Jerry Brown of O'Keefe and Giles's visits to ACORN offices in the state, Maddow showed the vast gulf between the conservative version of the "scandal" and reality.

2. They are dirtbags. Absolutely shameful.
They lied and pretty much got away with it while innocent people lost their jobs.

wait until the company was wrecked?

21. Breitbart wasn't forced to release the unedited tapes until
Jerry Brown ran a criminal investigation and subpoenaed them as evidence.

10. IANAL but can't these assholes be sued? Can't AG Brown go after them?
Can't the ACORN employees sue them for defamation? Can't the FCC demand FAUX air a correction?

I wish the Congressional Black Caucus along with the Dem party make a resolution defaming O'Keefe, Giles & others involved.

11. OK I'm pissed: AG Brown agreed NOT TO PROSECUTE O'KEEFE & GILES in return for the tapes
To obtain the full tapes, Brown's office agreed not to prosecute conservative activists James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles, who played the pimp and prostitute in the video, even though the report found they likely violated state privacy laws.

In California, O'Keefe used hidden cameras on visits to ACORN offices in San Diego, San Bernardino and Los Angeles. State law requires both parties to give consent before a conversation is recorded.

12. This is alarming.
What if AG Brown had found criminal activity? He would then have to prosecute ACORN but legally bound not to prosecute O'Keefe and Giles. This immunity stinks because he could have gotten the tapes through subpoena.

13. Join me in writing AG Holder & Judiciary Chair Conyers:
Holder: askDOJ@usdoj.gov

Conyers: John.Conyers@mail.house.gov

It's total BS! and that thug O"keefe is about to get off from attempting another set up in Sen Landrieu's office. It's about time he finds some justice! I hope those 2 ACORN employees who were set up sue the pants off the asshole.

15. You forgot the sarcasm thingy. If there's anything that the last 8 years have shown
is that repukes are dipped in teflon at birth. Even St.Ronnie's White house saw some of their own get indicted and even convicted. Not anymore.

17. I have to agree. There are 2 types of justice in this country and regardless of who is in power
criminal repukes are immune for serving real justice. Look at Sen Ted Stevens vs Gov Don Siegelman despite a Democrat as AG..

19. that seems odd
can't they just seize them or demand them as evidence or something?

anyway, can't ACORN still sue independently of the California AG?

20. If only the media would have requested the unedited videos before giving any
cred to this story in the first place. I'm talking about the non MSNBC media of course. ;)
