What Can We Do To Ensure That The Teabaggers Become A Real Party That Fields Candidates?
They would split the right of center vote for eternity and usher in an era of uninterrupted Democratic dominance.

That would be awesome.

2. Imagine A True Teabag Third Party
Imagine a true Teabag third party that siphons votes from the Republicants in every election. It would take at least a generation to figure out it isn't working.

3. I'd just as soon they not do so
If the Teabaggers were to form their own party, it would fizzle out after a few years or simply become completely irrelevant like the Libertarian Party. If they stay as they are, they will continue to demand more and more power from the GOP and will alienate Republican centrists. That's the gift that keeps on giving.

4. I'd Accept That Possibility
The Republicants can not win without the Teabagger vote.

7. I agree, and I expect this is what will happen.
Lets not complain about them, just let them continue to aggravate 'true' repugs.

AND lets encourage those who might be amenable, quietly, by our deeds, to recognize where the real interests of the people are, with a wise and smart Dem party.

5. the same electoral roadblocks that stop a progressive third party movement exsit for a
a RW one. the dems and repubs like the 2-party system. it's job security for the made members.

the teabaggers may affect discourse, but they won't get any candidates elected.

6. It Has Never Worked But We Can Dream
We can dream of a Tea Bag Party that gets, say, fifteen percent of the vote across the board. It would make it impossible for the Republicants to win since we don't have run offs.

8. Tell them to prove that they aren't in the Republicans' back pocket.
Have them demonstrate that they are truly mad at Washington!

10. I'd like to explore how we can possible influence the
current center point of politics toward the left instead of feeding the right. The Teabaggers seem to me to be a rebirth of John Birch. Where is their counterpoint? We have no vibrant left movement or even a vibrant liberal movement.

11. Maybe we should chitchat with some of them - online and off -
and convince them the Republicans want to "take away their freedoms" just as badly as the Democrats.
