Howard Dean's brother: Impeachment "more on the table than people think."
Groups believe impeachment more on the table than people think.

While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has famously stated that impeachment proceedings against President Bush or Vice President Cheney are "off the title," many activists feel that the tide is beginning to turn.

However, on Sunday, April 29, California delegates and state party members sent a powerful message to Pelosi and Congressional Democrats. “In a resolution affirmed by the full state party convention Sunday, the Democrats called on the U.S. Congress to use its subpoena power to investigate misdeeds of President Bush and Vice President Cheney – and to hold the Administration accountable 'with appropriate remedies and punishment, including impeachment,'" a letter to Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) members obtained by RAW STORY states.

Jim Dean, head of Democracy for America and brother of Democratic National Committee chair Howard Dean, said he understands the reluctance of Pelosi to lead Congress into impeachment proceedings during her first 100 days in office. “We took control of Congress because people are fed up and want us to get things done,” he observed, adding that impeachment proceedings would bog down Congress.

But he noted, “Just letting these guys off is setting a bad precedent.” Asked about the prospect of impeachment, he observed, “I think it’s more on the table than people think.”

2. There is a lot of hidden support for impeachment out there.
When I go to anti-war vigils and hold up signs, I find the impeachment signs are very popular, getting lots of honks, peace signs, thumbs up, hoots & hollars, cries of "IMPEACH!!!"

Most of the people I know, including a lot of Republicans, absolutely hate Bush. They want him out of there.

3. k&r! read the whole article at the link- Pelosi is listening
impeachment is on the table, but it's under the tablecloth, waiting to be unveiled.
Just a little more time for hearings, investigations, scandals, and sadly, rising casualties in His Endless War, and not only will the majority of Americans will be ready to impeach, but Pelosi and many Republican legislators will be too.
If Waxman, Conyers, Leahy, et al continue their assault, things may come to a head sometime mid-to-late summer?

4. People are hungry for Impeachment.
They're tired of being victimized, they're tired of the lies, the missing money, the death, the failures, the shrinking income, the loss of jobs, etc,.

The more the press ignores the deepening discontent, the greater the desire for impeachment grows.

There is no longer any red state/blue state in regard to this. There never really was except for in the minds and plans of "the dividers", meaning the corporate media and the Republic Party.

5. It's off the table
until it's on the table. I suspect that there's a lot of research and discussion going on about this subject which we aren't privvy to. Maybe even a political strategy and polling on the subject. It is getting mighty obvious that this administration is obstructing justice and legitimate oversight of Congress. At some point it becomes a constitutional crisis. If the DoJ is politicized to the point that they serve only one man vs. the country...then impeachment may be the only card left to play.

8. if they don't do it soon, it will be too late
and we will have set an historical precedent of a unelected president who served two terms and showed total disregard for the
constitution, international law and the rule of law here in the US.
