Oklahoma conservatives, lawmakers plot anti-federal militia
Source: Raw Story

Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty.

Tea party movement leaders say they've discussed the idea with several supportive lawmakers and hope to get legislation next year to recognize a new volunteer force. They say the unit would not resemble militia groups that have been raided for allegedly plotting attacks on law enforcement officers.

"Is it scary? It sure is," said tea party leader Al Gerhart of Oklahoma City, who heads an umbrella group of tea party factions called the Oklahoma Constitutional Alliance. "But when do the states stop rolling over for the federal government?"

Thus far, the discussions have been exploratory. Even the proponents say they don't know how an armed force would be organized nor how a state-based militia could block federal mandates. Critics also asserted that the force could inflame extremism, and that the National Guard already provides for the state's military needs.

Yeah, because we NEED state-based militias! I knew something was lacking! (sarcasm)

Unbelievable.

But no good can come of this, None. What federal mandates are a bunch of hayseeds going to block? Keep Federal Marshalls from arresting "tax protestors"? Assist some mossback cracker sherriff in running black kids out of a school? Or is this another bunch of clods hoping somebody will be afraid of them?

7. These people are being led.
I don't think the baggers even know what they're protesting. There's no one leading them that really wants these people to see what they really should be fighting for.

8. Why don't those Rambo wannabees just enlist in the real goddamned Army?
Oh, wait. Because they're all a bunch of overweight beer guts who'd piss their pants if you sent them someplace where the Arabs shoot back instead of selling you chewing tobbacco from the local convenience store.

9. Oklahoma: Been there, done that with William Henry Davis "Alfalfa Bill" Murray.
Born in Toadsuck, Ok, Alfalfa Bill was the consumate racist during the hard times of the Dust Bowl. He was the governor of Oklahoma, and a Democrat (FWIW). Hard times brings these cockroaches out.

Please, tell me you're making that up. It sounds like a place where genetic defectives would litter the landscape, drooling. Or is that where they clone teabaggers?

19. No, it REALLY is true
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_H._Murray

Here is a description of his campaign:

Murray won the Democratic nomination, then won the general election by almost 100,000 votes, the largest majority of any Oklahoma governor up to then. His win was helped by his campaign slogan that railed against "The Three C's– Corporations, Carpetbaggers, and Coons.

Also according to Wikipedia, "After his retirement, Murray became known as a radical racist and conspiracy theorist. Murray also wrote articles and books dealing with constitutional rights. In his books, Murray seemed to indicate his support for fascism."

10. Another Bunch of Loons...
What the hell are these people thinking!

Once again, a bunch of dumb asses want to take things into their own hands. Again I ask, what is our country coming to. I lay all this stuff on the likes of Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, Savage. Those people are the ones stirring up all this shit and they should be held accountable. It's amazing how much shit these guys have stirred up with their hate speech every day.

for example: http://www.txsg.state.tx.us/
nor should we forget that police are a specialized militia force.

Noisy rightwing hate media then, noisy rightwing hate media now. Efforts to establish rightwing militias with state approval then, efforts to establish rightwing militias with state approval now. Rightwing violence then, rightwing violence now

These dimbulbs don't have a new idea in their pointy little heads: the only question is whether we can push back smarter this time
