Grrrrr: Lieberman: 'Everybody should listen' to Sarah Palin

By Chris O'Meara, AP

In an interview with Newsmax.TV, Lieberman described Sen. John McCain's former running mate as "warm and likable," and warned her opponents not to dismiss her or what she has to say. The Connecticut senator, who left the Democratic Party and is now an independent, said "everybody should listen" to her.

I think ... Sarah Palin for a lot of people has become a spokesperson. People worried that government has forgotten them, that it has grown too big, that the deficit is growing too large, and in some sense that we're not being as strong as we should be in the world — Governor Palin has spoken to those concerns as much as anyone.

I do disagree with her on some of the specifics that she has said, but I think anybody who underestimates Sarah Palin as a political force in America does so at some peril, because she is speaking for a lot of people out there.

I agree. Palin, like most Republicans, can talk a mile a minute, and never utter anything of substance.

Much like there was with Zell Miller. Very likely some sort of dementia coming on.

5. She may "speak for a lot of people"
but she certainly does not speak for the MAJORITY. Someone needs to remind Lieberman that Palin LOST THE FUCKING ELECTION. And she certainly hasn't gotten any smarter since then.

Remember: This was the guy whose cloture vote he had to get to get health care passed.

Think about that the next time you start complaining that the actual health care package
our President managed to get passed doesn't live up to the one in your fantasies.

And it's no fantasy. Every other country in the industrialized world has it or some reasonable facsimile thereof. What got passed is better than nothing -- for now -- but the job is far from done.

33. All of her "ideas" are spoon fed. She's ignorant about almost every issue
And the issues she has been spoon fed answers on, she doesn't have a deeper understanding of why she should take that stance.

So...why should I listen to her? Lieberman = ASS

40. Why does he assume we didn't listen to her?
We did listen to her. She had nothing of importance to say, then we moved on. Only a moran keeps listening to the same MT talking points and pretends they are deep, significant or even interesting. She hasn't said anything worth hearing yet. How long do we give her to come up with something? Joe must lay awake at night hoping the crickets might interrupt their chirping to discuss financial reform.

People worried that government has forgotten them: IT NEVER CARED TOO MUCH ABOUT THE WORKING CLASS IN THE 1ST PLACE. EXCEPT FOR SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS, ETC.

that it has grown too big: YES, THE MILITARY, AND IT'S PROPORTION OF THE BUDGET HAVE GROWN TOO BIG.

that the deficit is growing too large: SEE ABOVE.

in some sense that we're not being as strong as we should be in the world: WE ARE FINALLY BEING STRONG IN ANOTHER DIMENSION BESIDES MILITARISM - SEE THIS WEEK'S NUCLEAR SUMMIT.
