Things I heard on the radio
Driving to work, put on the RW idiot station for a few minutes while commercials were on my usual station. This is what I heard:

1. Out of work people are getting huge tax refunds. One caller said she knew not 1, not 2, but 3 deadbeats getting huge tax refunds. All were unemployed, the first getting 1K, the next getting 3k, and the last, living with parents, got an amazing 8K refund check from the IRS! Of course no proof offered or requested for all this.

2. The Democrats are responsible for all the kooks and racists in the Tea Party. They have planted folks to yell the n-word and other bad things. Because the Tea Party is all about goodness, you know.

3. Reducing our stockpile of nukes means that Obama is going to make us defenseless against the rest of the world, in particular the terrorists who will of course bomb us into oblivion soon, so very soon now.

4. We need to give rich people more tax breaks because they "pay all the taxes". And the same old trickle down crap was trotted out, again without any proof or support.

Anyway, that was about all I could take before I changed the station back to sports talk.

2. It sounds unbearable.
You went where I am too fearful to tread. The report you give allows me to retain my negative attitude without having to call myself prejudiced against them.
Real is real.
Recommended.

4. The tax refund caller really got to me
Maybe because, frankly, I have a good job, would be considered middle class or maybe upper middle class, and I could not have gotten an 8K refund because I didn't pay that much in taxes total, before refunds. So I know that line was bullcrap. The only way I could figure out a way it could happen is if the person had a really good paying job, made 150K or more, then was laid off, and bought a Tesla or other electric car with a big tax break, and maybe solar panels for their house (which apparently they didn't have as they were living with their parents).

It is just a way to rile up people with thoughts that "them deadbeats are getting huge government handouts". Pure lies.

5. Even trying to justify these improbabilities is an excercise in
futility.
Just like when they are saying : "Socialist"- they are clueless to what they are talking about.

One might need to explain, possibly in our schools, along with education about money in general, how important and valuable taxes are.
One would need to show them how once educated and trained, people can make better salaries, afford the taxes, raise the general standard of living in a country, and show them why (along the lines of how Michael Moore showed us about government supported health care in France).

These people don't understand the principles of the things they are rejecting, and how they are helped by them every day and would be lost without them.

YIKES

3. I love the shit they pull like number 1.
The dittohead at the office comes up with Rush's examples. I've told him to "prove it" several times in the past.

He cannot.

Still tries like hell and doesn't learn his lesson.
