Interview with White Supremacist at Sarah Palin's Boston Common Teaparty Rally
Edited on Thu Apr-15-10 10:05 AM by Ian David
Boston.com blogger meets Palin fan from East Coast White Unity. Yup.

The Tea Party protesters rolled into the Boston Common yesterday, their leaders in two enormous buses.

This is me with a member of the ECWU, or East Coast White Unity.

As a member of a universally-respected international news organization said, when we spelled out that acronym for her: “Are you serious? That’s f---ing scary.”

He’s not everybody, but he and his organization were here.

A person came up to me and a friend near a hotdog stand, screaming. We weren’t sure why he was screaming at us, other than maybe because we looked young. (A good amount of the protesters were sarcastic young people, holding signs like “Palin/Voldemort 2012.”) We weren’t sure what he was screaming about, either, but it was something about guns. Eventually, after our calm accidentally eased him down, we began getting to know each other.

<snip>

In the past two years, for various different assignments, I went to Scott Brown's victory celebration in the Park Plaza Hotel and Barack Obama’s campaign stop on the Common in 2008. There were never any white supremacists there. There were plenty here.

4. ROFL!11!
I had hoped to be down there there yesterday but I had to go out to Concord & pick up my taxes yesterday morning. From your pics and WillPitts blog, I'm guessing you guys had a pretty good time. Sorry I missed it.

6. palin was a flop
for the population of the city and state let alone the rest of new england within 100 miles the turn out was sparse at best! not many get turned on by her squeaky voice or her attire. that red jacket being worn by a 50 year old lady =someone going thru her second childhood!
with all the hoop and hype she drew around 3000 but give her 30,000 and she still didn't draw 1/2% of the people available!
that tells me no one wants to see last years losers or the hear last years ideas!

3. Which one's in the Sox shirt? The blogger -- or the bigot?
If it's the bigot, he might want to rethink this whole "root for David Ortiz, Mike Cameron, etc." thing.
