Sally and I have worked together on the "Campaign for Community Values" and I have always just loved working with her

As news media attention and Democratic anxiety turns toward the Tea Party march on Washington today, let's pause to remember that not only did 95% of Americans get a tax CUT under President Obama (including many of those complaining he raised taxes) but also think about how our tax money is helping the Tea Partiers make all their misplaced ruckus (not to mention, helping all of us, everyday).

Here's a little ditty. Consider it a Tea Party love song of sorts....

The roads you drove to Washington.
Safe planes that didn't crash.
With your anti-government T-shirts on
Paid for with federally regulated cash.
If you took the subway
Don't go thinking fares pay all the fees.
That freedom that you cherish ain't free!

As you're trampling on the National Mall
Our tax dues mowed the grass.
When you leave a giant mess behind
Our taxes will clean up after your ass.
If you get sued for spitting on a Congressman
Our courts will let you argue that's free speech.
That freedom that you cherish ain't free!

Taxes paid Dick Armey's salary
And for the war in Iraq.
If we didn't pay Obama's salary
You'd have no one to attack.
And though Cheney has long been dead inside
It's our taxes that make his heart beat.
That freedom that you cherish ain't free!

You say you're the real patriots
Circa 1773
But patriots need a country
And a country costs money
And even in 1773 they knew that a nation should include everyone
Except for slaves and Indians but we've come a long way on that ... sort of...
Anyway, the point is their complaint was taxation WITHOUT representation
So they created a representative government
With elections that you lost and we won
So stop complaining
And pay your taxes
That freedom that you cherish ain't free!
That freedom that you cherish ain't free!

Happy Tax Day, y'all!
