Just saw the strangest thing happen
I am in traffic court with a friend who needed a ride here. Waiting on the judge. The courtroom is pretty full, about 20 or 30 people.

There was a couple sitting in front of us. A man and a woman, probably in their mid 50s. The woman got up a couple times to go talk to the clerk. She seemed pretty nervous. The man was fidgeting a lot, enough to catch my attention. Then he got a phone call and held the phone slightly away from his ear, so all of us sitting near him could hear the person he was talking to. That person was obviously angry, asking where the fuck this guy was and then said no way could he come right away.

The guy got off the phone and the lady sitting next to him said something and the guy went nuts, obviously angry. Lots of loud whispers, back and forth between this couple. Then the lady jerked back and I realized this man had just hit her!

Before anyone could react a cop came over and motioned for the man to "come with me". And the man got up and followed the cop out of the courtroom. The woman just sat there crying.

Then the cop came back alone and whispered something to the woman. Man still gone.

The lady sitting right behind this couple then started talking to the woman and I heard her say something about needing meds. Don't know if she meant her or the man she was with. Then she started crying again and talking about jail. The lady behind her said "No they couldn't take him cause there's no jail here".

This was about 30 minutes ago and the man is still gone. And I'm wondering how crazy you gave to be to hit someone while you're in a courtroom waiting to see the judge.

1. I would take a guess that her husband has Alzheimer's.
Sounds like he got a traffic ticket and came to court without his meds. Sad to see.

3. Pretty early Alzheimer's if that's the case. Or he could just be an abusive guy. So many options for
... this sad scene.

5. LOL! My friend said they were both on methadone
He could tell. Don't ask me how. But when we left court, the woman was sitting out front and she was fading out, like someone does when they are on heroin.

Very sad.

4. That would be contempt of court, if they wanted it to be.
