Idaho Tealiban endorses Blue Dog
Tea party endorsement catches Democrat Walt Minnick, his challengers off-guard

WASHINGTON - The most influential national tea party group, backed by a $3 million campaign war chest, surprised Idahoans by endorsing freshman Rep. Walt Minnick's re-election bid. Not all local tea partyers were pleased.

Minnick is the only Democrat in the nation to land an endorsement from the Tea Party Express, the most prominent national organization in the burgeoning political movement.

Tea Party Express announced its slate of endorsements - and targets - at a rally in Washington held to mark the April 15 federal income tax deadline.

"We can't be just a Republican organization. We've got to be an influential force in both political parties," said Sal Russo, a veteran GOP political consultant and one of the forces behind the Tea Party Express. "We have to reward some Democrats that have been willing to stand with us on the tough issues."

1. Innoculation...
The Teabag "Express" has had a pretty rough week...their roving bus tour drew mostly media and gawkers, then the group's GOOP underpinnings were exposed and then outbreaks arose among various teabag groups that turned their orchestrated poutrage into a national freak show. As its been reported, the crowds for this year teabaggings were small than last year...while still noisy and getting a lot of corporate media attention, the "movement" has lost a lot of its early excitement and ability to suck up money from their suckers. Thus looks like these teabaggers want to "legitimize" themselves...try to say that they aren't the GOOP astroturf group that they really are by "endorsing" a Democrat.

Minnick is one of the bluest blue dogs...so the endorsement means little, but watch how these shitstains attempt to play it as showing their "apolitical". Then let's see if they follow up that endorsement with cash...I'll bet a bright shiny dime he'll get nada.

2. "Minnick is one of the bluest blue dogs"
He's Idaho's Joe Lieberman. The only reason he won is the guy he beat made Michelle Bachmann look like a reasonable person in comparison.

3. The wingnuts over at Free Republic
universally don't like this. I don't think it will get Minnick many teabagger votes.
